Are you organised, good at problem-solving with excellent communication skills? Then this is a great opportunity to join the University's Academic Quality and Standards Team.

We are seeking an Academic Regulations Adviser, where you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality professional services. Part of the role is working as an Initial Assessor in the Additional Consideration team to consider student requests and provide timely outcomes. You will collaborate with colleagues in our academic schools and professional services to implement the University's academic regulations and assessment policies. Other key responsibilities of the role include acting as an officer to strategic university committees and working groups (most notably the Additional Consideration Panel and Academic Appeals Panel). This will involve dealing with sensitive, and occasionally challenging, information.

In order to be successful in this role you should have:

The ability to plan and prioritise work activities Proactive problem-solving skills to analyse and resolve complex issues Good written communication skills including the ability to communicate complex information sensitively and in formal minutes and/or reports The ability to review, interpret and apply regulations, policies and processes using sound judgement and innovative thinking To act as Officer/Secretary to high level strategic University Committees and panels, managing the business, providing effective information and overseeing resulting action Recent experience of academic quality assurance in a higher education (or similar) environment To line manage the Quality and Standards Officer(s) and/or Academic Regulations Administrator(s)

A degree and/or substantial previous experience of relevant work within a large complex organisation is essential, as is sufficient expert knowledge of quality assurance to be able to offer advice and guidance to colleagues.

This is a 12 month, fixed term contract (37.0 hours per week) with a 1st September start date and we welcome applications from candidates looking to job share. Monday-Friday with some remote working permitted.
