Voyage Care are looking for a new Support Worker Apprentice. You will be studying toward your Adult Care Worker Level 2. You will assist with daily living activities, learn essential care skills, and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere within our service whilst gaining a recognised qualification in health and social care.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with individuals using appropriate methods, including tact, empathy, and diplomacy, to foster good relationships. This may include specialist communication methods for which training will be provided.
  • Once trained, assist with personal care under supervision, including bathing to maintain a high standard of hygiene. This may include moving and handling techniques, using hoists, and repositioning service users.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of care plans to encourage individuals to take an active role in daily living.
  • Participate in daily outings, activities, or recreational pursuits, assisting individuals as required.
  • Undertake and/or assist with household activities such as cooking, mealtimes, laundering, and cleaning to promote a healthy environment and independent living.
  • Record and complete appropriate documentation accurately and informatively.
  • Handle cash daily for errands and service users' monies to facilitate financial management.
  • Undertake and complete the Apprenticeship Programme within the agreed timescale, including induction criteria.
  • Undertake any other relevant training to professionally develop and gain skills beneficial to service users.
  • Ensure all applicable policies and procedures are followed to comply with regulations and good practice.
  • Attend, participate, and contribute to team meetings to ensure understanding of service management issues and promote team communication.
