An exciting opportunity in Echocardiography has arisen within UHDB Foundation Trust which includes Royal Derby Hospital, Queens Hospital Burton and the newly formed Clinical Diagnostic Centres.
We are recruiting an Advanced Clinical Physiologist/Healthcare Scientist who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The Royal Derby Hospital echo department is BSE accredited in 3 domains - transthoracic, training and transoesophageal - and working towards stress echo accreditation.
The department undertakes adult transthoracic and regular transoesophageal lists. We also support visiting regional congenital Consultants in paediatric and ACHD clinics.
We have well established physiologist led exercise stress echo, bubble/contrast studies and valve surveillance clinics.
We are seeking an experienced adult BSE accredited (minimum 1 year post BSE accreditation) Cardiac Physiologist/Health Care Scientist to join our Advanced Clinical Physiologist team in Echocardiography and Non-Invasive cardiology.
The successful applicant will be supported to attend regular BSE conferences and courses relevant to the role.
Applicants will need to demonstrate proven competency in adult transthoracic echocardiography. Experience in paediatric echocardiography (desirable). Experience in performing and reporting other advanced diagnostic tests in non-invasive cardiology e.g. cardiac stress testing, HUTT. Be able to assist in a range of specialised adult cardiac ultrasound investigations and procedures such as bubble and contrast studies, 2D and 3D, TOE and pericardiocentesis procedures in the cardiac catheter lab (desirable). As part of the role, you would be expected to train in advanced imaging modalities such as stress echo, 3D echo, TOE, speckle tracking and strain analysis. Participate in physiologist led Valve Surveillance Clinics. Participate in echocardiography on call service.
