We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Anaesthetic Practitioner (ODP/Nurse) to join our theatre team at Practice Plus Group Ilford. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering safe, high‑quality anaesthetic care throughout the peri‑operative journey.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced anaesthetic practitioner who thrives in a fast‑paced theatre environment and is passionate about patient safety, teamwork and clinical excellence. You’ll be supported to develop your skills, contribute to service improvement and make a real difference to patient outcomes.
What you'll be doing
As Our Anaesthetic Practitioner (ODP/Nurse), You Will Be
Delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care within the anaesthetic environment. Preparing and checking anaesthetic rooms and equipment to support daily theatre lists. Receiving and supporting patients prior to surgery, ensuring safety, comfort and dignity. Assisting anaesthetists during induction, maintenance and emergence from anaesthesia. Accurately recording drugs administered, procedures undertaken and clinical observations. Ensuring effective handover of patients to the recovery team. Monitoring equipment and reporting maintenance issues promptly. Supporting infection prevention and control standards within theatres. Working closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and ward teams to ensure smooth patient flow. Contributing to audit, education, training and ongoing service development.
What we'll look for in you
As an NMC‑registered Nurse or HCPC‑registered Operating Department Practitioner, you will also have:
Completion of a recognised anaesthetic qualification Minimum of 2 years’ post‑qualification experience in anaesthetics, recovery or critical care Strong clinical knowledge and a commitment to patient safety and high‑quality care Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work calmly and effectively in a busy theatre environment A flexible, positive attitude and strong team‑working skills
