About the role: CRU is seeking an Analyst, Non-ferrous value chain to join the Market Intelligence and Prices (MIP) function, delivering credible market intelligence and price assessments across non-ferrous markets. This role combines commodity pricing expertise, primary research, stakeholder engagement, and content creation to support CRU’s market views and strengthen the adoption of CRU prices in the market. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across Market Analysis and Forecasts, contributing to high-quality, compliant, and impactful market intelligence.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver robust, credible market intelligence and price assessments for non-ferrous market expertise. Ensure timely, compliant price data and related content that meets ISOCO Principles and other relevant regulatory requirements, including NDRC. Appraise and approve price assessments from colleagues as part of established check-and-approve quality assurance processes. Grow and improve the quality of CRU’s data provider network within the area of market expertise. Build and maintain client and external stakeholder relationships to support the adoption of CRU prices. Support the preparation and development of content for regular market intelligence publications. Create engaging content based on CRU prices and their attributes, including marketing content. Promote, defend, and justify CRU prices to users and the wider market. Share relevant market data and intelligence across functions, using systems such as the CRU Prices System.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier institution. Further education certification in a subject relevant to commodity market intelligence and prices, such as journalism, geology, economics, or engineering.
Skills & Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience assessing prices in a Price Reporting Agency. Minimum 1 year in industry or research roles directly related to assigned commodities. Price discovery, assessment, and approval. Commodity pricing mechanisms in physical markets. Understanding of PRA operating models and price discovery processes in the context of compliance and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of customer requirements for prices. Price governance and compliance requirements. Ability to remain calm and deal with lobbying and other pressures from market participants. Network building and maintenance. Market intelligence gathering and primary research. Creation of market news or real-time, short-term market intelligence content. Client and other external stakeholder-facing experience. Collaboration and effective working in a matrix and highly international organisation.
