A wonderful opportunity has arisen due to expansion of the recruitment division, and we seek another vibrant Recruitment Consultant Apprentice to join our organisation. The role includes sourcing candidates, championing them to be selected for their ideal role, working closely with managed service providers, and handling objections.
Requirements
- Interest in local government.
- Experience within sales and/or customer service is desirable.
- Fluency within the software.
- Other relevant qualifications and industry experience are welcomed, as the apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect existing knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Learns the needs of our public sector clients for vacancies that are sent to us as preferred suppliers.
- Sources available candidates from a range of job boards using Boolean techniques.
- Establishes the skills and abilities of candidates whilst building strong and sustainable rapport.
- Champions their candidates to be selected for their ideal role.
- Works to achievable targets throughout their working day and week that are designed to set them up for success.
- Handles objections from prospective candidates and clients to ensure that unnecessary barriers are broken down.
- Presents candidates in the best light, ensuring CVs are strength-first and given effective introduction.
- Works closely with managed service providers to ensure candidates are given the best chance.
- Ensures successful candidates are onboarded in line with safer recruitment practices.
- Identifies, progresses, and converts leads into new candidates, placements, or clients.
- Sources vacancies in line with stakeholder requirements and organisational policies and procedures.
- Manages and maintains stakeholder relationships and their role within the recruitment process.
- Interprets and applies regulation and legislation, shares best practice, and advises stakeholders on their application.
- Plans and manages recruitment campaigns to attract candidates, including agreeing objectives with stakeholders and monitoring performance.
- Researches, identifies and attracts candidates using methods to satisfy job requirements, including those with transferrable skills to move from the legacy carbon economy to green economy jobs.
- Processes, reviews, and progresses candidate applications.
- Creates and presents diverse short lists of candidates to stakeholders.
- Informs and advises candidates on the outcome of their application at the individual stages of the recruitment process, including those that have been unsuccessful.
- Manages the recruitment and selection process for candidates, including those who require reasonable adjustments.
- Communicates information through different media, for example face-to-face or online meetings, emails, reports, and presentations.
- Engages with stakeholders to review recruitment processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and improving own performance.
- Reviews services provided and implemented improvements based on stakeholder feedback.
- Places candidates into roles that match their skills and stakeholder requirements.
- Uses technology and software tools to manage information, ensuring compliance with organisation and legislation requirements.
- Challenges poor practice and non-compliance with the recruitment process and escalates where appropriate.
- Identifies future changes in the sector that may impact the organisation, for example technology advances.
- Interprets policies to support and promote the delivery of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace, and monitors their impact on recruitment activities.
- Identifies and applies sustainable and greener methods of working, for example reducing energy and paper consumption, managing diaries to reduce carbon emissions (hold virtual meetings or attend multiple external meetings on the same day), considering greener options when booking venues for assessment centres or planning recruitment campaigns.
- Identifies and maximises opportunities to support the organisation’s business strategy, for example growing client or candidate pipelines.
- Manages resources within budget requirements.
- Responds to stakeholder complaints and escalates where appropriate.

Application Process
- The training will be a Recruiter (level 3) qualification.
- Training will take place within our premises, as well as, remotely to attend regular apprenticeship training.
- The exact training schedule will be agreed upon enrolment.
- There will be 1-to-1 learning with your training provider, TrainPlus.
- Regularly scheduled sessions with your assessor/tutor to ensure progress is maintained, and reviewed, throughout the duration of the course.
