An apprentice Level 3 Teaching Assistant is required to join our hardworking and dedicated team. The successful candidate will provide quality learning opportunities and support that develops the whole child.
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
Responsibilities
- Play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school day
- Help prepare the classroom each morning
- Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning
- Support behaviour and engagement in lessons
- Supervise pupils during breaks
- Assist with practical activities
- Lead short intervention sessions under the direction of the class teacher
- Develop your skills, reflect on your practice and contribute to a positive, inclusive school environment where every child can thrive
Requirements
- GCSE in English (grade Grades A-C/4)
- GCSE in Maths (grade Grades A-C/4)
- Communication skills
- Organisation skills
- Administrative skills
- Team working
- Non judgemental
- Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

- Apply behaviour management strategies in line with organisational policy.
- Adapt resources to support all learners.

- Apply teaching strategies to deliver learning activities or interventions.
- Build relationships with learners, teachers, other professionals and stakeholders.
- Comply with legislation, guidance, and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding and health & safety.

- Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
- Apply methods of formative assessment.
- Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.
- Clear, practical training to help you grow in confidence and develop key classroom skills.
- Training includes safeguarding, supporting learning in core subjects, and helping pupils with additional needs.
- Learn daily routines, small-group support and positive behaviour approaches alongside experienced staff.
- Complete off‑the‑job learning towards the Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Guidance from a supportive mentor throughout.
