Connect to your opportunity Strategic leadership and client advisory Lead complex transformation projects for law firms and in-house legal departments, focusing on process re-design, design and implementation of new AI enabled processes and solutions Advise clients on the strategic adoption of GenAI and digital technologies, helping them understand the opportunities, risks, and practical implications for legal service delivery. Develop and deliver best-in-class consultancy services that address efficiency, cost reduction, and value creation in legal service delivery.

GenAI & Digital Transformation Enablement Assess client legal workflows to identify opportunities for AI enabled automation, developing business cases and implementation roadmaps. Lead the design, build and deployment of GenAI-enabled solutions across legal processes. This will include redesigning legal processes, identifying AI use cases and benefits, designing and implementing prompts, workflows and agentic solutions in AI platforms, and developing robust quality assurance approaches. Drive user adoption and enablement, working closely with legal teams to build confidence and capability in using AI-powered and automated tools. Develop scalable, reusable solution frameworks and accelerators in delivery of legal engineering projects.

Project & Change Management Lead multidisciplinary delivery teams comprising legal engineers, legal subject matter experts, data analysts and developers to deliver technology solutions on time and within budget. Design and deliver tailored, high impact change management initiatives to drive and embed sustained adoption of AI solutions, including training, communications and comprehensive change management programmes. Develop and monitor KPIs and success metrics for delivery, including solution adoption, performance, user satisfaction and return on investment.

Client Relationship & Business Development Build and maintain senior client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on AI and technology enabled transformation. Identify and pursue new business opportunities in legal engineering, related transformation and Deloitte Legal’s wider services, contributing to go-to-market strategy and proposition development. Represent the firm at industry events and thought leadership forums, sharing insights on legal engineering, legal technology trends and the impact of emerging technologies on the profession.

People Leadership & Capability Building Hire, mentor and develop legal engineers and junior team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, inclusion and continuous learning. Drive internal capability building in legal engineering, including developing training programmes and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Establish a team culture and approach that stays ahead of the latest AI and legal engineering market developments.

Connect to your skills and professional experience Educational and Professional Qualifications Degree or equivalent qualification in law, computer science, engineering, data science or a related discipline, demonstrating a commitment to personal development. Professional certifications such as Prince2, PMI/APM, Prosci, or Lean Six Sigma are advantageous.

Legal and Consulting Expertise Proven experience PQE as a qualified lawyer Strong understanding of legal processes, workflows and the operational challenges faced by in-house legal departments and law firms, combined with the ability to translate these into AI & technology-enabled solutions. Expertise in solution design methodologies, requirements gathering, systems integration, API development and platform configuration within legal technology ecosystems. Experience gained either with a legal technology vendor, a major consultancy, or leading legal engineering or innovation functions within law firms or legal departments.

GenAI and Digital Transformation Skills Strong practical understanding of GenAI and agentic technologies, including large language models, prompt engineering, workflow build, agentic AI, and their application to legal use cases. Proven experience in designing, building and deploying legal technology solutions, including Legal AI assistant platforms. Strong awareness of data governance, privacy, security and ethical considerations in AI deployment, with the ability to embed responsible AI principles into solution design. Practical experience and understanding of AI related foundations that will drive long term transformation at scale, including data and knowledge, and wider technology ecosystem integrations and upgrades.

Leadership and Change Management Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering and delivery teams, including developers, data analysts, legal SMEs and third-party vendors, often in a matrix or global environment. Strong programme and delivery management skills, including agile methodologies, sprint planning, backlog management, budgets and profitability. Strong experience designing and delivering high impact change management initiatives to drive and embed sustained adoption of AI solutions Experience in mentoring and developing junior engineers and team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation and inclusion.

Client Relationship and Business Development Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of developing new business opportunities in legal technology and engineering services. Experience representing the firm at industry events and thought leadership forums.

Technical and Analytical Skills High proficiency with MS Office and expertise in data analysis and presentation. High proficiency designing and implementing low code technology solutions. Ability to analyse complex data sets, design data models and present actionable insights to clients in support of technology-enabled legal solutions.

Ability to bridge the gap between legal expertise and engineering, including collaborating effectively with software developers, data scientists, prompt engineers and legal subject matter experts. Experience in driving technology adoption and culture change within legal teams, particularly in building trust, confidence and proficiency in AI-powered and automated tools. Awareness of the evolving legal technology and engineering talent ecosystem, including the emergence of new roles, skillsets and career pathways as legal engineering and GenAI adoption scales.
