The Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering is now seeking exceptional scholars to join us as Associate / Full Professors in Mechanical Engineering, with the appointment of Head of Department.

About The Department

This is an exciting opportunity to join Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering at The University of Nottingham Ningbo China, an dynamic and fast growing department, to contribute your talent for the department further development. The department offers BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering (2+2, 4+0), BEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering (2+2, 4+0) and BEng (Hons) Product Design and Manufacture (2+2, 4+0) programmes which cover mechanics, dynamics, kinetics, thermodynamics, energy, fluids, materials, manufacture, ergonomics and design.

The Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering has strong links with the corresponding departments in the UK and Malaysia campuses of the University of Nottingham. Its exceptionally close involvement with Chinese and international institutions and industries ensures a high quality teaching and research in the relevant professional fields.

About You

You must hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or Materials Engineering. A strong track record of extensive research experience and expertise in these areas is essential, demonstrated through publications in leading peer ‑ reviewed journals, a proven ability to secure competitive funding, and a recognized reputation within the international academic community.

Equally important is a record of academic leadership, evidenced by successful programme direction and contributions to institutional strategic initiatives. Your experience in developing innovative pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning, as well as designing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in related fields, will be highly valued.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide significant leadership within the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering, particularly in the research and teaching domains of Mechanical Engineering and/or Aerospace Engineering.

Your Remuneration, Benefits and Support

Successful candidate will be offered a fixed-term contract for up to 5 years, with the HOD appointment up to 4 years, both may be extended by mutual agreement.

Salary will be within the range of 635,038 RMB to 780,622 RMB (Associate Professor) or 780,622 RMB to 1,025,445 RMB (Professor) annum depending on skills and experience, plus HOD allowance. In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.
