Job Description

Main Areas of Responsibility

Deal with emergency situations in accordance with specified regulations/procedures in order to save life and protect property Efficiently mobilise the resources required in responding to emergency incidents Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external bodies to ensure an effective integrated response to emergency situations and promote a professional image of Falck Fire Services Maintain required level of competencies as specified by the regulator in order to uphold the airport license Maintain equipment for operational readiness to specified standards in order to meet internal and external audit requirements Promote and adopt safe working practices to ensure that self, colleagues, and customers are not put at risk, and that health, safety and the environment are given the highest priority at all times Be responsible for personal and team compliance with Company Health and Safety Policies, ensuring safe working practices to minimise risk to self, work colleagues, customers and staff is minimised Comply with all legal and statutory obligations applicable to this role Ensure that any systems and procedures introduced by the Company, including those delivered under Enterprise, are effectively implemented, and adhered to Participate in projects and working parties and to carry out any other duties that may be outside the standard remit for the purpose of personal development, or as may be reasonably required by the Company Participate in Winterisation operations Industrial Response to manufacturing areas and chemical risks Habitat management by way of Bird Control Operations Airside Any other reasonable Management instruction. Save life at industrial / aerodrome incidents Extinguish fire Maintain operational readiness of resources Manage industrial / aerodrome hazards Provide emergency first aid and support to people affected by industrial / aerodrome incidents Mobilise resources to respond to emergency Drive and deploy fire-fighting vehicles and vessels Contain and control hazardous substances Develop self and others to improve performance Take responsibility for effective personal performance

Have the right to work in the UK Full UK Driving Licence Meets and maintains Civil Aviation Authority and Company medical and physical standards Be required to undertake security checks and references to gain Airside & Site Security Clearance Ability to build and maintain strong, effective working relationships across the business and influence key stakeholders Reliability and motivation Well-developed organisational and interpersonal skills Ability to accept accountability, responsibility and work to defined deadlines Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changings situations or demands of the job The capability and confidence to take the lead and put themselves / ideas forward The ability to work as a team to support others The ability to work on own initiative and perform well under pressure Have and maintain high standards , whilst demonstrating good teamwork and strong communication skills Work well under pressure and in challenging scenarios

Desi Rable

Airport / Fire Fighter Experience. LGV Licence (Although this is desirable, employment is conditional on completion during employment.) First Aid at Work.

The successful candidate will be required to maintain the following:

A required level of technical competencies as defined by Civil Aviation Authority and Falck Fire Services Attendance of training courses as agreed by the regulator and the Company Maintain medical & physical fitness

Recruitment Process

All selected candidates will be expected to undertake each stage of the recruitment process .

Stage 1 : Completion of basic Literacy & Numeracy online assessments Stage 2 & 3: Practical selection tests and Competency based interview. A Safety Critical Medical will be arranged with our Occupational Health provider which will include the Chester Step test.
