Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with strong expertise in Backbase Platform to lead the design and implementation of Wealth Management module. The Architect is responsible for designing end to end digital banking solutions on the Backbase platform, translating business and customer experience requirements into robust, scalable, and secure technical architectures. This role acts as the primary technical design authority for Backbase-based implementations, working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and engineering teams.
Solution Architecture & Design
Design scalable and modular architectures leveraging Backbase Digital Banking Services, Journey Engine, Identity & Entitlements, and Model Bank capabilities. Establish architectural patterns for micro‑frontend, headless, API‑first, and cloud‑native implementations. Drive solution alignment with enterprise standards around security, performance, scalability, availability, and compliance (UK/EU compliance) Architect and deliver key wealth journeys: onboarding, client portals (HNW/UHNW), portfolio views, and advisor tooling
Backbase Platform Ownership
Act as the platform solution owner for Backbase across channels including Web, Mobile (iOS, Android), and partner ecosystems. Provide architectural guidance on configuration vs customization, OOTB capabilities, and extensibility models. Ensure optimal usage of Backbase SDKs, APIs, design system, developer tooling, and accelerator frameworks.
Integration & Enterprise Architecture
Design and govern integrations between Backbase and core banking (Temenos T24), lending systems, payments, CRM (Salesforce), risk, fraud, and third‑party wealth platforms and fintech. Define enterprise integration architecture using REST APIs, event‑driven messaging, and middleware layers. Ensure consistent data models, entitlements mapping, and identity federation across systems.
CX & Journey Orchestration
Collaborate with UX and CX teams to translate customer journeys into Backbase‑enabled digital experiences. Ensure seamless orchestration of onboarding, servicing, and transaction journeys across channels. Drive adoption of personalization, analytics‑driven journeys, and AI‑assisted experiences where applicable.
Technical Governance & Delivery Enablement
Define architectural guardrails, reference architectures, and solution blueprints. Review detailed designs, integration approaches, and non‑functional requirements across delivery teams. Support DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, environment strategies, and cloud deployments. Engage with Enterprise architects, IT leadership, and business stakeholders as a trusted advisor.
Technical Skills
Strong hands‑on experience with the Backbase Engagement Banking Platform (Preferably Wealth Platform) Strong background in Java/Java EE or Spring/Spring Boot for microservices and integration services. Experience with web (Angular) and mobile (iOS, Android) digital channel architectures. Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, JWT, SSO, and API gateway patterns Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift) and modern CI/CD practices. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization, and DevOps practices. Understanding security, IAM, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, entitlements, and regulatory compliance. Strong understanding of Integration with core systems and NFRs in banking: security, performance, resilience, availability, and regulatory compliance.
Experience
12+ years of overall IT experience with at least 5 -7 years in architecture roles. Proven experience as Solution Architect in Digital banking Platform and Wealth Management. Deep understanding of Wealth Domain (Client onboarding, portfolio views, adviser workflows, servicing, KYC, etc) Backbase product certifications or formal platform training. TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification. Experience with AI‑enabled CX, personalization engines, or analytics‑led banking initiatives. Strong communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience working in multi-vendor programs. Proven experience integrating across a broad technology landscape, including: Core banking platforms (Temenos T24) CRM (e.g. Salesforce)
