We have a great opportunity for a dynamic, inclusive and innovative Chief Pharmacist who would like to develop their career further as a visible senior leader in the North East London region. The role will shape the strategic direction for the service and will provide professional leadership and direction for all registered pharmacy staff employed by the Trust.

Overview You will report into the Clinical Group Director and work closely with the Care Group Director of Operations and Nursing/Healthcare Professionals. Your ability and experience of driving and successfully achieving change will enable you to provide the leadership and strategic direction required to bring together our teams in the delivery of a patient‑focused, cost‑effective and high‑quality service.

Key Responsibilities

Hold a relevant professional registration and successfully manage pharmacy services within an acute NHS setting.

Act as the Trust Pharmacy Lead for Medicines Management, working closely with the Chief Medical Officer to ensure Trust‑wide delivery of safe, effective and efficient Medicines Optimisation.

Lead strategic pharmacy development agendas and uphold statutory requirements related to the safe and effective running of pharmacy services for patients and other service users in the Trust.

Ensure plans for provision of Pharmacy services are implemented and monitored for effectiveness across the Trust, with appropriate systems and accountability structures in place to provide board‑level assurance on all safety and statutory requirements.

Qualifications And Experience

Relevant professional registration.

Proven experience managing pharmacy services in an acute NHS setting.

Creative and innovative thinking to generate opportunities for the service.

Experience in strategic planning processes.
