BI Developer

We’re looking for a talented BI Developer to join our Data Innovation team and play a key role in transforming how data is used across the organisation.

In this role, you’ll help drive our journey towards self-service reporting, enabling teams across the business to make smarter, data-driven decisions. You’ll design and deliver high-quality Power BI solutions, turning complex data into meaningful insights that support our wider mission – ensuring everyone has the opportunity to have a place they can call home.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing and building impactful Power BI reports and dashboards based on business needs Creating and managing datasets to enable scalable, self-service reporting Partnering with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable insights Reviewing and improving reports developed across the business to ensure consistency and quality Supporting colleagues with Power BI queries and training, helping to build data confidence Leading workshops to uncover and prioritise reporting and data needs Maintaining and optimising the Power BI platform (datasets, workspaces, and apps) Ensuring robust documentation, testing, and adherence to best practice delivery methods

What We’re Looking For

Strong experience with Power BI, including report and dataset development Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M) and data modelling concepts Experience retrieving and manipulating data from sources such as SQL, SharePoint, Dataverse or OData Ability to write and optimise SQL queries Proven experience gathering and interpreting stakeholder requirements Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels Experience working in agile, fast-paced environments

Desirable

Experience with Azure data technologies (e.g. Azure SQL, Synapse) Exposure to the wider Power Platform Knowledge of Power BI administration, gateways and permissions Experience with streaming data or financial reporting Relevant degree or strong mathematical background
