A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Clinical Research Nurse to join Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is keen to work in research. The post holder will join a team of research nurses who are currently supporting the delivery of commercial and non-commercial National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) portfolio research studies across a wide range of specialties. The role will involve identifying, recruiting and supporting patients through the research process as well as providing support to study teams and clinicians carrying out research. Additionally the post-holder will actively promote research amongst clinicians, service users and the wider NHS.

The Trust delivers high quality clinical trials in partnership with the NIHR Regional Research Network and Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust continues to develop and expand its capacity and capability in undertaking clinical research within its NIHR Lancashire Clinical Research Facility. As one of the research nurses, you will enjoy working in a busy environment and support research activity across the Trust, ensuring all studies are undertaken to the highest standards within timelines and meeting recruitment targets.

The post is part time for 12 months and based within the Research and Development Department at Lantern Centre, Preston. The post holder will work as an ‘agile’ worker and therefore can be expected to work from different sites across the Trust on a regular basis.

If you feel that you have the necessary skills, drive and experience for this post, we look forward to hearing from you.
