About the Role

The University of Leeds is looking for a motivated professional with relevant clinical and teaching experience to join their dynamic team. This role is based on the university campus, working Monday-Friday. You will be involved in organising and delivering teaching and simulation for students and staff in a range of clinical skills. You will develop new workshops and create innovative ways of learning to allow students to develop high levels of competence and confidence in a safe, risk-free environment. You will also take part in assessment and feedback on students’ clinical skills and have a major involvement in the Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), including organisation and examining. Clinical Skills teaching complements the students’ academic learning, supporting both theoretical and clinical work. Students strongly value this teaching and view the professional experience and guidance as essential for their development and future success.

You will be expected to play an important role in ensuring the delivery of clinical skills that recognise the significance of health inequalities that exist within our society and promote a culture of equality diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Organising and delivering teaching and simulation for students and staff in a range of clinical skills.
  • Developing new workshops and creating innovative ways of learning.
  • Taking part in assessment and feedback on students’ clinical skills.
  • Having a major involvement in Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), including organisation and examining.
  • Ensuring the delivery of clinical skills that recognise the significance of health inequalities and promote equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching in a clinical environment.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated healthcare professional with an interest in education.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to relate well to students.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Enthusiastic and highly motivated qualified healthcare professional (e.g. nurse, doctor, PA).
  • Extensive experience in a clinical setting involving recent clinical contact with patients.
  • Current professional registration with a regulated body including the GMC, NMC or HCP.
  • A relevant healthcare qualification.
  • Experience in teaching and assessment.
  • Hold an appropriate university teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
