About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Health Care Support Worker working as part of the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team within Caithness. The base for this post is negotiable between Dunbar Hospital, Thurso and Town & County Hospital, Wick.

The role holder will work to maintain individuals in their own community.

  • Ability to work alone and on your own initiative but still be a team player
  • Adaptable, self-motivated and able to respond to challenges
  • Willing to travel effectively and efficiently
  • Driving licence is essential
  • Access to own vehicle for work purposes, if required (a pool car may be available)

Role Details

  • Position: Health Care Support Worker
  • Band: 3
  • Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Location: Caithness (base negotiable between Dunbar Hospital, Thurso and Town & County Hospital, Wick)

Important Information

  • Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
