A community consultant role in a well-established MDT, working with complex mental health presentations across Brighton & Hove.

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the East Assessment & Treatment Service (ATS), based within the Park Crescent Cluster.

About the role This is a key consultant role within a large, multidisciplinary community mental health team providing specialist assessment and treatment for people with complex and often unstable mental health needs.

You will work closely with primary care, inpatient services and partner organisations, supporting continuity of care across the system.

Your responsibilities will include: • Providing specialist psychiatric assessment and evidence-based treatment • Acting as Responsible Clinician for patients on Community Treatment Orders • Undertaking Mental Health Act assessments • Providing clinical supervision to trainees and support to MDT colleagues • Liaising with inpatient services, forensic teams and substance misuse services • Contributing to risk management and complex case discussions • Supporting collaborative, person-centred care planning

The service East ATS is part of Brighton & Hove community services, structured into smaller locality clusters aligned to GP practices, supporting strong primary care relationships.

About you You will be a GMC-registered Consultant Psychiatrist (or within 6 months of CCT) with strong clinical and collaborative skills.

You will hold: • MBBS (or equivalent) • GMC registration with licence to practise • Specialist Register status (or within 6 months) • Approved Clinician status (or ability to achieve within 3 months) • Section 12 approval (or ability to achieve)

You will also demonstrate: • Ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty • Strong bio-psycho-social approach to care • Commitment to teamworking and shared leadership • Experience working within multidisciplinary and multi-agency settings
