Warwickshire County Council’s Registration Service is committed to excellent customer service. Our aim is to continuously find ways to improve the way we do things to meet the needs of the people of Warwickshire and beyond. Our team provides a range of services including birth, stillbirth, and death registration, notice of marriage and civil partnership, copy certificates and citizenship. In addition, we conduct around 3,000 civil ceremonies a year, in both our own venues and 80 Licensed Venues and other unlicensed locations approved by the Registration Service

The Role

We are looking for a Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths to join our team to provide cover at our offices Countywide in Nuneaton, Rugby, Stratford and Warwick. This post is offered on a zero-hour basis and we are unable to guarantee or predict any hours. As a Deputy Registrar you will register births, stillbirths, deaths, and marriages in accordance with current statute, regulation, and instruction.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

To be successful in this role you will need good administrative and customer service experience as well as a good standard of education. It’s important you have good communication skills both verbal and written, clear and neat handwriting and ability to work accuracy and excellent attention to detail. You will be used to working within a team as well as on your own initiative; be resilient, flexible, and able to work with people and confidential information with tact and diplomacy. In addition, it’s important you have good planning and organising skills, and are able to manage your time effectively and work under pressure. Good standard of ICT skills and the ability to travel throughout the county and willing to attend relevant training courses are also required.

Additional Information
