To build a fair education for all, we need to unlock the potential in all children – not just some. Together, we’re making it happen. Every day, our work takes us closer to a better future. But we need to do more. It’s a big challenge – and we need your help to take it on.

As a mathematics Subject Development Lead, you will deliver training and support to our QTS trainees and ECTs, both online and in-person, to support their progress. You will also use your expertise both as a teacher and a subject specialist to contribute to our learning design across programmes. You’ll work with a portfolio of trainees to develop their subject knowledge and subject-specific pedagogy. You will collaborate with other support roles, to see trainees grow into leaders, committed to making a difference to educational inequality.

Do you have experience of developing others within the context of a mathematics specialism? Are you a subject matter expert, and is your knowledge of the pedagogy underpinning mathematics exemplary? Do you have QTS (or equivalent) and have you been a school leader? Do you have excellent knowledge of the Teachers’ Standards (2012) and the Initial Teacher Training and Early Career Framework (2024)? Have you developed, mentored and coached inexperienced teachers within a training route for at least two years e.g. PGCE, Schools Direct, Teach First etc?

Yes to the above? Then we want to hear from you. You might be our next Development Lead - Mathematics
