Are you a creative, strategic communicator with strong digital and social media expertise? We are seeking a Digital and Social Media Communications Officer to join our Corporate Communications Department at Nottinghamshire Police.

🚀 What You’ll Do Create and deliver engaging digital and social media content aligned to the force’s strategic priorities Lead on innovative social media content that connects with audiences and drives meaningful engagement Develop, deliver and evaluate communication and engagement strategies for internal and external audiences Manage and respond to enquiries via social media and mainstream media, supporting operational policing needs Proactively engage with online audiences and identify and respond to misinformation Provide expert advice to officers and staff on effective digital communication, content creation and channel management Ensure consistent application of the corporate brand across all communication channels Support social media training for neighbourhood teams and contribute to public safety campaigns Participate in the out‑of‑hours on‑call rota, supporting communications during critical and major incidents

💡 What We’re Looking For Demonstrable experience delivering communications or engagement activity within a complex organisation Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing content for digital, social and traditional channels Proven ability to plan, deliver and evaluate communications strategies for diverse audiences Strong understanding of social media platforms, digital engagement tools and multimedia content production Experience using creative software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, video and audio editing tools Ability to work calmly under pressure, prioritising workloads in fast‑moving and sensitive environments Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to provide confident communications advice Commitment to equality, diversity and Nottinghamshire Police’s PROUD values Willingness to travel across the county and work flexibly, including unsociable hours when required
