Description: Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent The Early Education Development Advisor will guide and support current and prospective early years and childcare providers, helping them to meet statutory requirements, develop their workforce and improve quality of provision. Responsible for supporting a caseload of early years & childcare settings & childminders; providing advice and guidance to help improve practice and support improved outcomes for children. This role is integral to fulfilling the council's statutory duties around ensuring high quality early education and childcare services to children and families in Leicester. You will be working with a range of partners, schools and early years providers, as well as being part of a dedicated and passionate team, who want to make a difference to children. We have one full time permanent position working flexibly Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. There is a blend of working out in the community as well as being home and office based. You'll be required to carry out support visits to early years providers and schools, as well as attend face to face; regular team meetings, one to one supervision time and project or caseload related meetings. This is a full time role and would also consider two part-time applicants sharing the responsibilities to collectively fulfil the role. What you'll be doing: Working as part of a team of advisors, you will support quality improvement and workforce development across the early years and childcare sector in Leicester city. Providers need to be supported by the local authority through their registration journey to first full Ofsted inspection, which includes providing accurate and clear information to ensure they meet the statutory framework of the EYFS as well as assist them in preparing for registering with Ofsted. Targeted support is given to settings and childminders with less than expected standard Ofsted judgements, to help them respond to their Ofsted actions, evaluate their practice, and support them to make improvements to the quality of their provision. Day to day, you'll conduct visits, provide telephone support and sign-post providers to a range of tools and resources to aid them. You'll develop and deliver a range of professional development opportunities to the early years' workforce. What you'll need: Significant experience of working in the early years and childcare sector, supporting, and developing early years practitioners and improving quality of provision. Experience of developing and delivering workforce development opportunities; training, events, tools and resources. Have in depth knowledge and understanding of early years and childcare frameworks, early education curriculum and pedagogy and safeguarding practice. Excellent communication skills, used to develop & maintain relationships with stakeholders and work collaboratively with other services and partners to ensure service needs are met. Proficient IT skills and strong writing skills.
