Description: Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Fixed Term for 6 Months We are seeking motivated individuals to join our Electoral Services Team. These roles are an exciting opportunity to join a small but dedicated team, with a clear career pathway. This post supports the delivery of Local Government and Parliamentary elections, and referendums. It alsoassistswith the production and maintenance of the Register of Electors for Leicester City. The post-holder will work Mondays to Fridays during normal office hours, but this will vary when an election or the annual canvass is underway and will require some working outside of normal hours. Part time hours will be discussed at interview. This is a career graded post (LG Band 04 – LG Band 05). Appointment to a level will depend on the outcome of the selection process and experience of the successful candidate. Dependent on availability of work/vacancy at a higher level, progress will be by satisfactory performance, agreed at annual appraisals and through on-going supervision. We will consider this vacancy on a secondment basis for Leicester City Council employees. What you'll be doing You'll help compile,maintain, and ensure the completeness and accuracy of the Register of Electors, and support the effective administration of elections and electoral registration in line with statutory requirements. You'llbe using an electoral management software system to manage work queues, updateinformation,and process applications. Therole also involves handling enquiries from the public,Councillors, MPs, external partners and agencies, and internal departments, providing clear andaccurateadvice. What you'll need As a person, you'll have strong written and verbal communication skills. You'll be eager to learn new skills and be adaptable, showing willingness to work with new processes and procedures when they're introduced. You'll have excellent IT skills and be confident in data handling. And be able to carry out manual handling, for example moving election equipment. In addition, you'll be able to work outside normal office hours during canvass and election periods.
