About The Role

If you are passionate about supporting children and young people to improve their emotional wellbeing and resilience, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for an Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Wakefield Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service. You will support children, young people and families through early intervention, advice and goal focused emotional wellbeing support across community and educational settings.

In this rewarding role, you will carry out emotional wellbeing assessments, deliver evidence based interventions and provide guidance to help children and young people access the right support at the right time. You will work closely with families, schools and partner agencies to build positive outcomes and reduce barriers to engagement.

You will also contribute to wellbeing promotion activities, deliver training and support wider service development within a collaborative and values led team. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people will be central to everything you do.

This role is offered on a part time basis, working three days per week from 9:30am to 4:00pm. The working days can be agreed once successfully appointed.

About You

You will hold a qualification in mental health or working with children and young people, such as Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or equivalent, alongside relevant post qualification experience.

You will have experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable groups and feel confident working within multi agency partnerships. Strong communication, organisation and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to manage your own caseload and work independently when needed.

You will understand emotional wellbeing, safeguarding and psychosocial interventions, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and professionals. You will also be confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.

A flexible approach is important, as the role involves outreach work across Wakefield, including some evening work. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required (unless this is not possible due to disability, in which case we are happy to talk through alternatives).

Join us and help make a real difference to the wellbeing of children, young people and families across Wakefield.
