About The Role

At Sulzer, safety isn’t a policy — it’s a mindset. We’re now looking for an experienced ESH Specialist to take ownership of Environment, Safety and Health across our Southern UK Service Centres, supporting the teams that keep some of the world’s most critical rotating equipment running.

This is a home-based role, giving you the freedom to manage your own diary, with regular travel to sites where your presence, expertise and influence really matter.

What do our Service Centres do?

Sulzer Service Centres are the operational heart of our Services business. They provide repair, overhaul, maintenance and upgrade solutions for rotating equipment including pumps, motors and turbomachinery used across energy, water, chemicals, industrial and infrastructure sectors.

The role

As ESH Specialist, you’ll be the subject‑matter expert and trusted partner to our site leaders across the Southern Service Centres. You’ll lead, coach and challenge the business to continually raise ESH standards while ensuring compliance with legal, corporate and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities Include

Owning and driving the ESH agenda across Southern Service Centres Ensuring compliance with UK ESH legislation, Sulzer standards and customer requirements Conducting site audits, inspections and risk assessments Supporting incident investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement Coaching managers and operational teams to embed a strong safety culture Supporting environmental initiatives and sustainability objectives Acting as the key ESH interface between sites, regional leadership and the wider Group EHS function

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in an ESH / HSE / SHE role within engineering, manufacturing or service environments is preferred; however, we’re most interested in the right person with the right mindset and approach. NEBOSH or equivalent qualification Strong working knowledge of UK ESH legislation and best practice Confident communicator able to influence at all levels, from shop floor to senior leadership Comfortable working independently across multiple sites Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly
