About The Role
The Estates Assistant is part of the NOC Estates team. The Estates team are responsible for the providing a quality estates service to all organisations accommodated on the sites ensuring facilities and estates are safe, sustainable and sensitive to change.
The role of the Estates Assistant as part of a wider team, provides the Postal and Porterage service across the NOC Southampton site an efficient and customer-focused manner. The duties of the Estates Assistant will be to effectively operate and provide a quality service to all persons, working at, or visiting the Southampton site either in person, by telephone or by email. The service will include event set-up, ad-hoc porterage services, room checks, testing of portable appliances, postal management, and mail delivery. The position will also support the operation of the Helpdesk.
The role will involve manual handling; current Estates Assistants will walk up to 10 miles per shift and regularly handle items exceeding 25KG in weight.
The position will provide support to the NOC Southampton Estates team in order to deliver a high-quality service in a customer focused environment.
About You
The successful candidate will deliver excellent customer service skills, face to face, over the phone and via email. You will be a very organised individual with a proactive approach to work, and excellent attention to detail.
You will be able to work effectively both alone and as part of a team, as required.
You will have experience in operating IT database systems and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ideally you will also have prior knowledge of Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and Manual Handling procedures. Training to be provided as necessary.

Location
This position will be based in Southampton. The centre is well connected by public transport and has ample cycle parking in addition to free onsite car-parking with over 40 EV charging points.
