The Lake District Wildlife Park is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, dedicated team player to join our keeper team. The role will include working with a wide variety of taxa including Carnivores, hoof stock, primates, birds and reptiles
This is a varied role that will include working with our native rare breed regenerative farming enterprise on the Armathwaite hall estate
This is a customer facing role that will include presenting talks, providing animal encounters and regular interaction with our visitors.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about wildlife and conservation and wants to share this enthusiasm with our guests.
Desirable Skills
3 years of experience of working in an animal related environment. DMZAA or equivalent qualifications A broad range of experience of animal keeping including birds, reptiles, primates, ungulates and domestic stock. ATV/tractor driving skills The ability to work alone and as part of a team The ability to work under pressure Excellent customer service skills Good organisational skills and the ability to multi-task Computer literacy skills Maintenance and enclosure refurbishment skills Initiative to continually strive towards improving the Park and wider estate
Full time 40hrs per week to include weekends and bank holidays
