This is a hands-on opportunity to build a clean, scalable website for a high-impact environmental nonprofit, while shaping how we present our work to partners, funders, and communities.

What difference will you make?

Our website is critical to how we communicate our work, attract partners, and secure funding—but our current setup limits flexibility and growth.

By helping us migrate to a self-hosted platform, you will

Enable REUSE Foundation to present its work more professionally and credibly Support fundraising and partnerships through clearer storytelling and structure Create a scalable digital foundation for future campaigns and initiatives Reduce long-term costs and dependency on restrictive platforms Help accelerate solutions that reduce plastic waste in rural communities

Your contribution will directly strengthen our ability to grow and scale reuse systems that prevent plastic pollution at the source.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for a volunteer who is practical, reliable, and comfortable building and managing websites independently.

Core Technical Skills

Experience building and deploying websites (front-end or full-stack) Familiarity with modern web technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript) Experience with website frameworks or platforms (e.g. static site generators, CMS tools, or similar alternatives to Wix) Understanding of hosting, domains, and deployment (e.g. using platforms like Netlify, Vercel, or similar) Ability to migrate and structure content from an existing site

Nice to Have

Experience with CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress or headless CMS) Basic UX/UI design skills Knowledge of SEO and website performance optimisation Experience working with nonprofits, startups, or small teams

Ways of Working

Able to work independently and take ownership of the project Practical and solution-oriented (focused on getting things live, not over-engineering) Comfortable communicating with non-technical team members Able to document work and create simple guides for others

What will you be doing?

We’re looking for someone who can lead and support the transition from Wix to a more flexible, self-hosted setup.

Key responsibilities include

Recommending an appropriate tech stack (e.g. static site, CMS, or lightweight framework) Migrating existing website content from Wix to a new platform Setting up hosting, domain configuration, and deployment workflows Designing a clean, professional, and easy-to-update site structure Ensuring the website is optimised for performance, mobile, and SEO Creating simple documentation so non-technical team members can update content Providing light ongoing support and improvements as needed

You’ll work directly with a small, mission-driven team, with flexibility to shape the approach and tools used.
