Job Description
This role in the National Portfolio Management Office as part of Portfolio Allocation & Development team supports delivery of the Flood investment Programme in Flood and Coastal Risk Management .
Duties will include;
Analyse portfolio data from a wide variety of sources and systems to understand future funding needs. Develop engaging and informative charts and visuals that are audience-appropriate and follow data visualisation best practice. Present insights and evidence to enable informed decision making. Engage, and collaborate with local teams across the business to ensure data is well-managed. Contribute to knowledge sharing, innovation, and development of the team’s capabilities.

The team
We build, prioritise and allocate funding to ensure the best value for money. The team manages and develops the programme to deliver the best possible outcomes for people and wildlife. This will include working with people within the team and beyond, seeking technical input and working with local teams to manage allocations. The role will also help ensure these programmes are well managed and support activity to improve outcomes.
Experience/skills Required
The role is diverse, challenging, fast-paced and changeable. Analytical skills, initiative, time management, prioritisation, building relationships, and project management skills are central.
Have experience of manipulating, analysing and presenting data using a range of tools such as Microsoft Excel and other desktop packages. Be flexible and adaptable to meet tight deadlines Have good oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook Familiarity with SharePoint, document management systems, or other digital collaboration tools (e.g. MS Teams, Content Cloud) Ability to accurately analyse and interpret information is essential. Appreciation for the importance of data quality and data management Excellent IT skills and an interest in using IT to make work more efficient.

We are a dispersed team with members based in various locations around England. Some travel may be required to meet colleagues face to face.
