Role Description

This is a full-time, field-based role for a Field Engineer covering our Northern UK client base, primarily across Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, and the surrounding regions. We're looking for the kind of engineer who'd rather be on the road solving real problems than tied to a desk, and who clients end up asking for by name.

You'll be the face of Aztech for our Northern clients, handling the hands-on technical work that can't be done remotely: project deployments, client onboardings, infrastructure installs, and the trickier escalations from our service desk.

If you know the MSP world inside out, you're presentable, and you genuinely enjoy people as much as the tech, this is a role you'll thrive in.

What you'll do:

Travel to client sites across the North of England (Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, and surrounding areas), with occasional travel further afield Lead new client onboardings, hardware installs, network configuration, end-user setup Diagnose and resolve issues across desktops, servers, networks, and cloud platforms, onsite and remotely Install, configure, and maintain firewalls, switches, access points, and end-user devices Support Microsoft 365, Azure, and Google Workspace tenants, migrations, configuration, and BAU Work alongside service desk and project teams to deliver on time and to a high standard Maintain accurate documentation in ConnectWise PSA and our IT documentation platform Represent Aztech professionally at every visit, clients judge us by how you show up

Qualifications

Based in or around the North of England (Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, or surrounding areas), this is essential for sensible travel times to client sites Proven MSP experience supporting multiple clients in a service provider environment Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (mileage and travel expenses fully covered) Strong Microsoft 365 administration, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive Hands-on Windows 10/11 deployment, troubleshooting, and Group Policy Networking fundamentals, VLANs, routing, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, firewall configuration Experience with endpoint protection and device management tools (Intune, etc.) Excellent interpersonal skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical users Self-motivated, able to work autonomously onsite without supervision
