Financial Modeller - 6-month FTC / £60k per annum

Role Overview and Key Responsibilities We are a leading UK based litigation finance company and are seeking a highly skilled Financial Modeller to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities and a deep understanding of financial principles and logic, enabling them to develop models to support investment opportunities and monitor ongoing performance. This role requires proficiency in Excel, as well as the ability to interpret investment criteria, including contractual and other relevant parameters, and to construct user-friendly models as well as clear dashboards, charts and other relevant outputs.

Main Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain sophisticated financial models for both single investments and portfolios of investments that allow for timely forecasting, valuation, and scenario analysis. • Collaborate across the business to gather inputs and validate assumptions. • Ensure models are robust, accurate, reliable and error-free. • You will work with our current modelling team and remote working is acceptable.

Required Skills and Qualifications • Ideally a qualified CFA or CA with a minimum of 5 years’ advanced investment valuation, structuring and modelling experience from within a corporate or consultancy environment preferred. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experienced user of AI tools preferred; experience with VBA, Power Query, or other modelling tools is advantageous. • Previous experience in litigation funding or a similar industry preferable but not essential. • BA degree or above in finance, accounting, management information systems or a quantitative discipline or related field from an accredited university. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with deep experience of presenting to clients or other stakeholders. • Proven ability to track multiple workstreams simultaneously.
