As a Firms Accounts Assistant, you will support the team in the administration and processing of the firms’ accounts. The role would be around 25 hours per week, ideally 4-5 hours per day, 5 days per week. There can be some flexibility around days/hours as there’s more work at the beginning/end of the month, and less mid-month. There is also some flexibility for occasional work from home days.

About the Team

The Firms Accounts Team is small but functional. It includes the Firms Accounts Manager, two Credit Controllers and two Bookkeepers. The Team is responsible for reporting to the Partners.

  • Experience in general accounts bookkeeping, SAGE200 and Microsoft Excel

  • Highly organised, with proven administrative skills

  • Ability to manage and keep to deadlines

  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism

  • Knowledge of VAT and payroll would be advantageous 

  • To provide administrative and accounting support in producing the firm’s accounts, including the firm’s trading and non-trading companies. 

  • Produce accounts on a monthly and annual basis and deal with ad-hoc reports and questionnaires.  

  • Processing of employee expenses, liaising with office contacts to ensure motor certificates are up-to-date prior to paying. 

  • Processing the Trade Supplier Run. 

  • Provide back-up support for other CLS bookkeeping staff during their holidays (excluding cash posting). 

  • Assisting with payments/transfers etc on the Barclays Internet Banking.  

  • Work must be undertaken to the highest possible standards and conduct themselves in accordance with the firm’s procedures and policies. 

  • Overseeing and reconciling client bank accounts and reconciliations to client monies schedules. 

  • Producing information for the auditors.

  • Dealing with payment of confidential expenses.
