Make a Real Difference to a young person in Conwy as a Step-Forward Foster Carer Across Conwy, there are children and siblings who are ready to transition from residential care who need more than just a home. They need a stable, caring environment where they can rebuild trust, grow in confidence, and feel part of a family again. As a Step-Forward Foster Carer, you could provide that safe space, welcoming a child or sibling group into your home and helping them navigate this pivotal stage in their life. If you have professional experience supporting children, young people, or adults - especially those with complex needs or challenging behaviours, through work or volunteering, you may already have the qualities that matter most: patience, empathy, and the ability to guide and encourage a young person through difficult moments. Who we are looking for: Individuals or couples who can provide full-time care in their home A spare bedroom or bedrooms that can be dedicated to fostering People willing to support siblings to remain together whenever possible Patient, resilient individuals who are open to learning and working with professionals People with experience in supporting children, young people, or adults, particularly those with complex or challenging needs What You Will Receive An enhanced fee of £52,000 per year (equivalent to £1,000 per week) per child, plus weekly payments for the child and payments for birthdays, holidays and other activities Extra benefits such as council tax reduction, parking permits and access to local and national discounts and memberships Trauma-informed training, guidance, and professional support plus access to supportive local peer networks A retainer fee between fostering placements and a £500 referral payment should you successfully refer another new carer Step-Down Fostering with Foster Wales Conwy is a role that offers a unique chance to use your skills differently, providing care, stability, and hope to children at a crucial time in their lives.
