Freelance Senior Design Manager
A leading residential developer is seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Design Manager to support the delivery of a major RC frame residential scheme in London. This is a key role overseeing the design process from coordination through to delivery on site, working closely with internal teams, consultants, and contractors.
This opportunity is being offered on a freelance basis through our consultancy, acting on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded developer with a strong pipeline of work across London. As Senior Design Manager, you will take ownership of the design management function on a complex RC frame residential development. You will ensure design information is coordinated, compliant, and delivered in line with programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities Include: Managing the full design process from Stage 4 through to completion Coordinating architectural, structural, and MEP design teams Leading design team meetings and driving programme adherence Reviewing and managing design deliverables, RFIs, and technical submissions Ensuring compliance with UK building regulations and developer standards Working closely with site and commercial teams to resolve design issues Managing design risk and identifying value engineering opportunities
Requirements: Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager on residential developments Strong track record delivering RC frame schemes in London Background working for a developer or main contractor Excellent knowledge of UK building regulations and construction processes Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills Ability to work between office and site environments
