Freelance Technical Designer

We are currently working with a retail design studio looking for a Freelance Technical Designer on a long-term contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for a technically focused designer who thrives on delivering drawing packages. The successful candidate will play a key role in the technical delivery of retail projects, producing accurate and detailed drawing packs to support fabrication and installation. This position requires a strong understanding of retail design standards, materials, and construction methods, with the ability to translate creative concepts.

Key Responsibilities: Produce high-quality technical drawing packages for retail environments Ensure accuracy, compliance, and feasibility across all technical deliverables Collaborate closely with design, production, and client teams Support the delivery of projects from concept through to installation Manage revisions and updates efficiently within tight deadlines

Key Requirements: Proven experience as a Technical Designer within the retail sector Strong proficiency in Vectorworks (essential) Working knowledge of SketchUp and/or 3ds Max is highly desirable Experience delivering projects within Duty Free / travel retail environments would be a distinct advantage Excellent attention to detail and strong technical problem-solving skills

Contract Details: Freelance, long-term ~9-12 months Day rate: £265 – £350 (DOE) Flexible working with WFH options available
