We are looking for 2 motivated, proactive, and team‑focused General Assistants to support the daily operation of our world-class facilities. The Role As a General Sports Assistant, you will help ensure the safe and efficient daily running of our pitches, multi‑sports hall and related facilities. This hands‑on, customer‑facing role includes: Preparing and setting up equipment for bookings, training, events, tournaments, and matches Welcoming and assisting customers, clubs, referees, and event organisers Monitoring activities to ensure safety guidelines and policies are followed Conducting routine inspections to maintain cleanliness, safety and operational standards Reporting and addressing minor maintenance issues Assisting with opening and closing procedures Supporting community events and sporting activities Providing basic first aid or emergency response (if trained) Working collaboratively with colleagues across Hull Sport and University services What We’re Looking For We’re keen to hear from people who can bring: Strong communication and excellent customer service skills A friendly and proactive attitude Ability to work well in a team and stay motivated when working independently Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Willingness to undertake training and develop professionally Understanding of (or interest in learning about) Hull Sport’s services Initiative and problem‑solving skills An interest in working within the sport and leisure industry A positive work ethic and commitment to high standards This is a part time role with salary pro-rated in line with part time hours. This post is 22 hours per week, term‑time only, following a regular 6‑week rota, with shifts scheduled between: Weekdays: 6:30am – 22:30pm Weekends: 8:30am – 19:30pm Flexibility is required to support events and holiday cover.
