Role Description: Haute Couture Atelier Coordinator
This is a full-time on-site role for a Haute Couture Atelier Manager at Miss Sohee. In this role, you will be creating bespoke couture collections and one-of-a-kind gowns for clients and VIPs from around the world. Working with the most luxurious fabrics, each piece requires exceptional craftsmanship and extensive experience. You will be joining a close-knit atelier team, where individual expertise is valued and collaboration is essential to problem-solve and perfect each garment during development. We are searching for a team member with a long-term commitment to the brand and a true passion for couture craftsmanship and with a minimum of ten to fifteen years’ experience of working in a similar Haute Couture Atelier who can confidently perform the key duties and responsibilities required. This is an exciting time to join Miss Sohee, as our luxury West London Atelier has recently expanded to double its size. You will be working hand in hand with our artisan team, contributing to the creation of extraordinary couture pieces while growing alongside the brand. We highly appreciate individuals who bring initiative, creativity, commitment, and a strong work ethic. The right candidate will be someone who envisions a long-term future with Miss Sohee and is motivated to grow alongside our dedicated core team.
Duties and responsibilities Collaborate with lead pattern cutter and the atelier manager to translate creative concepts into technically feasible, perfectly constructed Haute Couture garments. Oversee all atelier operations, ensuring the timely and high-quality production of garments for seasonal collections and private clients. Guide seamstresses and tailors on construction methods, finishes, and couture techniques, ensuring the highest craftsmanship standards are upheld at all times. Lead the end-to-end product development process from initial design handoff to final delivery, aligning timelines, resources, and technical needs. Plan, monitor, and control project budgets, ensuring each look is produced within the allocated financial framework without compromising quality. Track material and labor costs and implement cost-effective production strategies tailored to each project. Prepare detailed monthly financial reports covering actual vs. projected costs, team productivity, freelance hours, and material usage for senior management. Conduct ongoing financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve operational efficiency, and inform future planning. Allocate resources and assign team members (permanent and freelance) to projects based on skill sets and priorities. Manage attendance, schedules, and performance of atelier staff, ensuring optimal team capacity throughout the production calendar. Source and coordinate freelancers, ensuring smooth integration and quality alignment during busy periods or for specialized techniques. Lead and attend client fittings, managing feedback and communicating technical adjustments clearly to relevant team member. Oversee sourcing and inventory management of fabrics, trims, and tools, ensuring timely procurement and avoiding shortages. Conduct quality control reviews at each production stage (toile, prototype, final garment), ensuring couture standards are met. Foster a collaborative and disciplined work environment, balancing creative needs with operational excellence. Report regularly to senior leadership on project progress, team status, financial performance, and upcoming resource needs.
Essential skills and qualifications Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a senior atelier role, with at least 2 years in an Atelier Coordinator or similar leadership position within Haute Couture or luxury fashion. Deep technical knowledge of Haute Couture construction, techniques, and hand finishes to confidently lead and support artisan teams. Strong understanding of pattern development and collaboration with pattern cutters for both client and collection garments. Proven experience in financial planning, budget tracking, and monthly cost reporting. Highly proficient in Excel and/or other tools for financial and operational reporting. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to details. Professional, discreet, and respectful in dealing with VIP clientele and confidential projects. Fluent in French and/or English; other languages such as Italian are a plus. Passionate about Haute Couture and committed to preserving its tradition while optimizing its modern execution.
Hours and environment Your normal working week will be 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break. You will be asked to work additional hours paid at the agreed rate of contract. You will be working in a collaborative atelier space with access to free parking dependent on availability.
