Role Overview
The Head of Creative Production (UK) is a senior leadership role responsible for the creative, operational, and commercial performance of the Creative Production department.
This role combines department leadership and creative oversight with direct responsibility for generating new business and driving revenue growth, ensuring the team delivers outstanding work while actively contributing to the company’s commercial success, client development, and market presence.
Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, the role will shape the agency’s creative production offering, lead the development and conversion of new business opportunities, strengthen key client relationships, and identify growth opportunities across the film, entertainment, and VOD landscape.
Main Responsibilities
Department & Creative Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Creative Production team, fostering a collaborative and solution-focused culture Oversee the delivery of all creative production output, ensuring work is of the highest quality, on brief, on time, and on budget Provide senior creative oversight and guidance across key projects Champion creative excellence, innovation, and consistency across all formats and platforms
Commercial & New Business Development
Take ownership of new business generation, building and maintaining a strong pipeline of opportunities Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities into revenue Build and maintain senior relationships across studios, broadcasters, streaming platforms, agencies, and direct clients Lead and contribute to pitches, proposals, and client presentations, developing compelling and commercially viable creative responses to client briefs Work closely with the Creative Producers and Account Management teams to grow existing accounts, increase client spend, and identify cross-selling opportunities Support forecasting and pipeline reporting, contributing to business planning and revenue targets
Operational & Department Management
Oversee resource planning, workload management, and team capacity across multiple concurrent projects Create a positive and motivational work environment in the department, leading by example, aligning daily work with company goals. Setting clear expectations of the team and individuals within the team, providing consistent communication, coaching and support. Ensure production workflows are efficient, scalable, and aligned with business growth Manage internal and freelance resources in line with project and commercial requirements Maintain oversight of budgets, timelines, and delivery standards across all projects Ensuring all projects are effectively managed with close cost monitoring to ensure established margins are being delivered on and each project generates net profits to the business.
Strategic & Cross-Department Collaboration
Act as a senior liaison across Creative, Technical, and Account Management teams Work closely with the Executive Creative Director to align creative vision with production execution, ensuring consistently high standards of output Partner with the Offline Editing department and wider production teams to ensure seamless delivery across all stages of the production pipeline Ensure the full scope of the company’s services is effectively leveraged and presented to clients Contribute to wider business strategy, aligning creative production with company growth objectives Support the CEO and leadership team in identifying opportunities to expand the company’s offering and market position
Skills and Experience
Significant experience in creative production within a post-production, film, or TV agency environment Proven track record of working with broadcasters, film studios, and major entertainment clients, with an established industry network Demonstrated success in generating new business and growing client relationships Proven experience leading and developing high-performing creative production teams Strong understanding of end-to-end AV production and post-production workflows Highly confident in client-facing situations, including pitching and presenting at a senior level Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to balance creative ambition with financial performance Excellent organisational, leadership, communication, and time management skills Ability to operate strategically while remaining close to execution and delivery
