A FTSE listed business operating a high-profile and highly complex group, is seeking a technically strong Head of Group Financial Reporting to lead the group reporting function. This is a senior leadership role requiring deep consolidation expertise, strong IFRS knowledge and the gravitas to operate at Executive and Audit Committee level.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will take ownership of the group’s external reporting and consolidation process, leading a sizeable team and acting as the go-to authority on technical accounting matters across the business. The role offers significant visibility, responsibility and the opportunity to shape best‑in‑class group reporting in a large, fast‑moving organisation.

Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee the group consolidation process for a large, multi-entity group, ensuring accuracy, integrity and timeliness Own delivery of half-year and full-year statutory reporting under IFRS, including coordination of the Annual Report Provide clear, high-quality financial reporting to the Board and Audit Committee, including technical updates and judgement papers Act as the group’s technical accounting expert, producing papers on complex accounting issues and new IFRS developments Lead and develop the Group Financial Reporting team, setting standards, coaching senior team members and building succession Own and enhance the group consolidation system and master data (chart of accounts, reporting structures, supplementary reporting) Manage the external audit relationship, driving a smooth and well-controlled audit process Partner closely with tax, legal and M&A teams on group restructurings, acquisitions and disposals Maintain ownership of the Group Accounting Manual and ensure consistent application across the business Oversee complex areas such as IFRS 16 leasing, share-based payments and group tax reporting

Candidate Requirements: Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / equivalent) Proven experience in a senior group reporting role within a large, complex organisation (PLC or equivalent) Strong consolidation and IFRS technical skills are essential Demonstrable experience leading and developing teams within a group finance environment Comfortable operating at senior stakeholder level, including Board and Audit Committee exposure Strong written skills with the ability to produce clear, concise technical and governance papers Experience of consolidation/reporting systems and managing reporting processes at scale
