Head Office Reporting Controller
The London Finance team encompasses the following core functions: Financial Reporting and Control, Management Reporting, Product Control, Tax, and Treasury & Capital Management.
The Financial Reporting and Control function is an integral part of the Finance function, responsible for the consolidation, control and reporting of the ICBCS consolidated financial results. The reporting team is also responsible for the submission of Financial Reporting (FINREP) returns under the EU implementation of Basel III and for IFRS compliance. The function reports into the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The key responsibilities of this function are:
ICBC Head Office reporting Financial governance and control External reporting and consolidation IFRS financial reporting FINREP reporting Bank of England reporting Projects
What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of this role is the co-ordination and completion of reporting requirements as determined by ICBC Head Office in Beijing, and the ICBC Group auditors. The role covers all aspects of finance for the ICBC Standard Bank Plc group, including daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual and ad-hoc reporting submissions.
The role will involve extensive liaison with ICBC Head Office (primarily its Financial Accounting, Assets & Liabilities Management and Risk Management Departments), its subsidiaries, branches and various departments within ICBC Standard Bank Plc. The role will suit a highly driven, ambitious and presentable individual that is committed to improvement in reporting and business partnership
What you'll need to be successful

High level English and Mandarin communication skills (written and verbal) needed due to the nature and responsibilities of the role Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) Significant experience in Financial Reporting within Professional Services or Banking desirable Strong working knowledge of IFRS, preferably with experience in accounting for financial instruments Solid understanding of banking products, balance sheet structures, and regulatory frameworks Advanced Microsoft Office capability, particularly Excel, with experience handling large and complex datasets Practical experience with financial and reporting systems commonly used within finance functions.
Head Office Reporting/local ownership Act as the central owner and coordinator for ICBC Head Office (HO) reporting across Financial Accounting, ALM, Capital, Tax, Management Information, and related functions, representing local SMEs in HO discussions Deliver end‑to‑end monthly, quarterly, semi‑annual, and annual financial and statutory submissions to multiple HO departments, including timely and accurate uploads to HO systems (including Mandarin‑only platforms)
Financial Reporting & Audit Take responsibility for the preparation and submission of Financial Accounting Division reports across all reporting cycles, in line with ICBC HO requirements Implement ICBC HO accounting policies, including chart of accounts maintenance and template changes, ensuring appropriate local adoption Supply relevant financial reporting data to support ICBC HO tax reporting and liaising with Tax team on HO tax information requests
Asset and Liability management (including capital related) Produce forecasting and analytical reporting for ICBC HO Asset & Liability Management (ALM), including net interest margin forecasts, balance sheet projections, and ALCO‑related materials. Monitor and assess compliance with ICBC Group ALM frameworks, limits, and key metrics, providing analysis and insight to support HO ALM decision‑making and ensuring relevant feedback to local ALCO governance meetings
