Position: History Expert

Type: Contract

Compensation: $55–$63/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 20 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

Author, review, and annotate technical tasks to evaluate AI model performance on history problems. Produce original problem sets grounded in maps, archival documents, timelines, and historical imagery. Write reference solutions and apply structured quality checks. Provide clear, structured feedback to improve training data quality and downstream performance. Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.

Qualifications

Must-Have

PhD in History, MA in History with 3+ years teaching or research experience, or BA in History with 5+ years teaching, tutoring, or applied research experience. Working fluency in at least two of: ancient, medieval, modern, regional, economic, political history. Comfortable reading and interpreting maps, archival documents, timelines, and historical imagery. Clear technical writing; able to articulate reasoning step-by-step in written form.
