A growing business in West Sussex is seeking an HR & People Operations Coordinator to join its People team. They are continuing to develop its People function and are looking for someone who can provide reliable day-to-day HR and people operations support.
This is a development opportunity for someone with initial HR experience who wants to build broader exposure across the employee lifecycle and grow into more advisory work over time.
You will join a small People team supporting a sizeable employee population, acting as a first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries and helping to bring more structure, consistency and efficiency to core people processes.
Key duties Supporting day-to-day employee and manager queries Coordinating core HR processes across onboarding, employee changes, absence, documentation and wider employee lifecycle activity Maintaining accurate employee records and supporting people data and reporting Using HR systems effectively and helping to improve processes and workflows Supporting absence, policy and basic employee relations activity, with guidance from more senior colleagues Helping to create clearer and more consistent ways of working across the People function Working closely with the wider People team on change, communication and operational improvements
The successful candidate will have some initial experience in HR, People Operations or HR administration. You may currently be working as an HR Assistant, HR Administrator, HR Coordinator, People Coordinator or People Operations Coordinator and be looking for a role with broader exposure and development.
Strong organisation, accuracy and attention to detail will be important, along with confidence using systems and keeping processes moving. You will need good judgement, discretion and professionalism, as well as clear communication skills and a helpful, practical style.
Prior exposure to a growing, changing business environment may be useful, but it is not essential. More important is a structured, curious and practical approach, with a genuine interest in building a long-term career in HR.
The role is based in West Sussex and is commutable from locations including Crawley, Horsham, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Gatwick, Reigate and surrounding areas.
