Entry Level

Are you someone who enjoys helping people, keeping things organised and making a real difference behind the scenes?

Do you take pride in delivering a great experience, getting the detail right and being the person others rely on for practical, timely support? If so, this could be a fantastic next step in your HR career.

At Whyte & Mackay, due to internal progression we are looking for an HR Coordinator to play a key role in supporting our colleagues and managers across the business. This is an individual contributor role within our HR Operations team, offering plenty of variety, responsibility and the opportunity to build strong HR foundations in a people‑focused organisation.

What the opportunity looks like:

As HR Coordinator, you’ll be a trusted first point of contact for HR queries, providing clear guidance, resolving requests wherever possible and signposting colleagues and managers to the right information and knowledge hubs. Where queries are more complex, you’ll ensure they are triaged appropriately, helping maintain a smooth and supportive HR service.

You will also deliver accurate, end‑to‑end administration across the full colleague lifecycle, from onboarding and contract creation through to role changes and leavers, ensuring systems and records are kept up to date and colleagues feel well supported at every stage.

Alongside this, you’ll support absence management and low‑complexity employee relations activity, coordinate key cyclical HR activity such as inductions and long‑service awards, and help keep HR guidance and content accurate and current. You will work closely with HR colleagues to provide effective cross‑cover and contribute ideas to continuously improve how HR services are delivered.

This role can be based at either our Head Office in Glasgow or our bottling plant in Grangemouth.

What will help you succeed:

You’re organised, approachable and comfortable working with people at all levels. You enjoy problem‑solving, take confidentiality and accuracy seriously, and are confident managing multiple priorities in a busy environment.

Experience in HR coordination, administration or HR operations will stand you in good stead, along with a working understanding of core HR processes across the colleague lifecycle. A qualification in HR or business administration is helpful but not essential, practical experience, curiosity and a willingness to grow and learn matter just as much.

Why join Whyte & Mackay?

You’ll join a business with a proud heritage and an ambitious future, one that genuinely values its people and the experience we create for them. You will be supported to learn, grow and develop within a collaborative HR team, while making a meaningful contribution from day one.

There’s never been a better time to join the Whyte & Mackay community.
