We have an exciting opportunity to join the award-winning Family Information Service. A small but dedicated team providing information to children, families, and young people.

This post will be a hybrid post with a mix of office based and outreach. There will also be the opportunity to work from home.

The post provides information, advice, and assistance to members of the public, parents, carers, children, young people, and professionals who work with and support children, families, and young people.

You will be responsible for ensuring information about relevant services, events and resources is readily available, up to date and promoted where appropriate. You will manage information and will use a variety of means to promote information to the public via, social media, Raise York website, our on-line search facility, outreach events and useful publications.

You will be experienced in working directly with members of the public and have very high customer service standards.

Essential experience and skills include, but are not limited to:

A good understanding/experience of working with children and families

Exceptional customer service skills

Excellent IT skills with experience of data analysis and providing management information

Experience of working effectively and in co-operation with a wide range of internal and external partners

Ability to prioritise workloads

We work closely with the MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub) and as such you will have a working understanding of child protection and safeguarding policy.

This role is not suitable as a job shre opportunity.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
