IT Infrastructure Manager McFall Recruitment has been engaged to hire an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to lead the end‑to‑end delivery, resilience, and development of infrastructure services. Operating within a globally aligned technology environment, this role ensures that on‑premise, cloud, network, and end‑user computing platforms remain secure, reliable, and aligned to business needs. You will provide strong technical leadership, operational governance, and vendor oversight while driving service excellence, risk management, and continuous improvement. Working closely with architecture, applications, information security, and business stakeholders, you will help deliver stable, scalable, and cost‑effective infrastructure services that support organisational strategy and transformation.
You will own the full lifecycle of regional infrastructure services across data centres, servers, storage, virtualisation, cloud platforms, networks, and end‑user computing. Ensuring availability, performance, capacity, and resilience will be central to your remit, alongside contributing to infrastructure‑related elements of the information security strategy. You will lead and develop technical teams across Run (operations) and Build (engineering), setting clear objectives, building succession capability, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
You will oversee service management processes, ensuring effective incident, change, and major incident handling, while embedding global standards across the team. You will also lead disaster recovery planning and annual testing, ensuring critical systems meet recovery expectations. Collaboration with Application, Architecture, Information Security, and Investment Systems teams will be essential to delivering stable, end‑to‑end services. Vendor and stakeholder management will be a key part of the role. You will manage strategic technology partners and third‑party providers, while owning the regional infrastructure budget, including forecasting, cost optimisation, licensing, and contract management. You will provide accurate reporting on service performance, incidents, and overall infrastructure health to support informed decision‑making.
Strategically, you will develop and maintain an infrastructure roadmap aligned to business and technology objectives. You will identify opportunities to enhance resilience, automation, security, and cost efficiency, and lead initiatives supporting digital transformation, mergers, and geographic expansion. Staying current with emerging technologies and industry best practice—particularly within financial services—will be important.
To succeed, you will bring a strong background in enterprise‑scale hybrid infrastructure environments, with hands‑on experience across VMware, Azure AD / Entra ID, cloud automation, enterprise networking, and high‑availability architectures. You will be a confident leader capable of making sound decisions under pressure, translating technical concepts into business outcomes, and developing high‑performing teams. A solid understanding of ITIL, service management, governance, audits, compliance, and risk remediation is essential, along with experience managing budgets and operating with high ethical standards. You will ideally hold relevant certifications, including ITIL and Microsoft Azure qualifications such as AZ‑900 or AZ‑104, or bring equivalent experience. Personally, you will be calm under pressure, highly organised, and able to build strong stakeholder relationships, taking ownership from planning through to execution.
