Head of IT Location: Hybrid (2 days per week in office)

About the Role We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Head of IT to lead and evolve our technology function during a period of transformation. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing IT operations, managing a multi-disciplinary team, and driving the consolidation of multiple IT environments into a unified, efficient structure. Our organisation operates entirely within an Azure Cloud environment, with cybersecurity services delivered via an external partner. As we wind down several long-term projects, the successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the future IT landscape.

Key Responsibilities Lead the integration of multiple IT estates into a single, cohesive environment Oversee day-to-day IT operations, ensuring stability, performance, and scalability Manage and develop a team of approximately 18 internal staff, alongside third-party providers Act as the primary point of contact for external vendors and partners, ensuring strong collaboration and delivery Take ownership of IT contract management, including supplier performance and value optimisation Drive continuous improvement across service delivery, systems, and processes Collaborate across the organisation to align IT strategy with business objectives

Team & Structure You will operate within a matrix environment, working across: IT Service Desk IT Projects Team Core IT Function

This role requires a leader who can bring teams together, build alignment, and foster a high-performing culture. Key Requirements Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role (Head of IT or similar) Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure / cloud-based environments Demonstrated ability to manage third-party vendors and external partners Solid understanding of IT contract management and supplier governance Experience leading teams through change, transformation, or integration projects Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
