Integration Architect
Job title: Integration Architect Contract: six months Location: London (hybrid)
Job description We are seeking an experienced SAP Integration Architect to play a critical role in the Landmark Programme, a major transformation initiative to: • Migrate from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA • Decouple non-finance capabilities from SAP • Enable full decommissioning of SAP ECC before 2030 This programme addresses a highly complex legacy environment where SAP ECC has become tightly coupled with multiple business processes and systems, creating a bottleneck for change and innovation. The Integration Architect will lead the design of a simplified, modular integration landscape that enables agility, reduces technical debt, and supports a modern, domain-driven architecture.
Key Objectives of the Role • Design and govern integration architecture across: o Legacy SAP ECC o SAP S/4HANA (Finance core) o Domain-driven business systems • Enable the decoupling strategy by: o Removing non-finance functionality from SAP o Redirecting data flows to domain platforms or integration layers • Reduce complexity by transitioning from: o A highly coupled SAP-centric architecture o To a modular, loosely coupled ecosystem • Support delivery of: o Integration Strategy o Integration Architecture Design o Interface Specifications & build oversight
What You’ll Be Doing Architecture & Design • Define the target integration architecture aligned to S/4HANA as the finance system of record. • Establish integration patterns (APIs, events, messaging) tailored to a decoupled landscape • Ensure adherence to programme guiding principles, including: o Minimum Viable Integration. o Standard first, exception by design.

Decoupling & Transformation • Liaise with the other business transformation programmes that will need to into create new integration designs for removing non-finance capabilities from SAP ECC • Redesign outbound and inbound interfaces: o Repoint integrations to domain systems o Reduce SAP’s role as a central data distribution hub • Support the move towards: o Domain ownership of data o Increased pace of change across business areas
Delivery & Governance • Own or contribute to key artefacts: o Integration Strategy o Interface Specifications o Non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, resilience) • Work across delivery phases: o Design → Build → Test → Deploy (SAP Activate aligned) • Provide technical oversight of: o Integration build and test activities o Vendor-led delivery (multi-partner model)
Collaboration & Stakeholders • Work closely with: o Enterprise Architecture teams across M&S Digital and Tech. o SAP functional teams (Finance, PTP, OTC, etc.) o Domain system teams (Supply Chain, Product, Pricing) • Partner with system integrators and specialist vendors across the programme

Candidate Profile Experience • Strong SAP integration experience across: o SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA • Demonstrated experience in large-scale transformation programmes • Experience designing integration solutions in complex, highly integrated environments
Technical Skills • Deep understanding of: o Enterprise integration patterns (API, event-driven, messaging) o Interface-based integration (IDocs, services, batch, etc.) o Data flow and system decoupling strategies • Experience working with: o Multi-system landscapes (ERP + domain systems) o Integration platforms and middleware
Architecture & Design Capability • Proven ability to: o Design scalable, modular integration architectures o Simplify complex estates and reduce dependencies • Familiarity with: o Domain-driven / service-based architectures
Soft Skills • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills • Ability to operate in multi-vendor, matrix environments • Commercially aware, outcome-driven decision making
