Interim Head of Commercial Finance - 12 month FTC Location: Central London (Hybrid)
We’re delighted to be supporting a high-growth, multi-brand consumer retail group in the search for an Interim Head of Commercial Finance. This is a pivotal leadership role, partnering directly with the CFO and senior stakeholders to drive commercial performance, strategic decision-making, and continued expansion across the portfolio.
Operating across a multi-site, multi-channel environment, this role will suit an experienced commercial finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving business.
The Role Lead the Commercial Finance function across multiple brands, acting as a key partner to senior leadership and the board Own budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning (including full P&L, balance sheet and cash flow) across the group Deliver high-quality board reporting, providing clear insight on performance, risks and opportunities Partner closely with merchandising and product teams on sales, margin and stock planning Drive investment appraisal processes, including business cases and post-investment performance tracking Support new business initiatives including commercial due diligence and onboarding of acquisitions Build, lead and develop a high-performing commercial finance team
Candidate Profile Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with strong academic background Proven experience in a senior commercial finance role within a multi-site, multi-channel retail environment Strong track record of business partnering across senior stakeholders, including board-level exposure Deep experience in stock planning, sales forecasting and margin optimisation Advanced financial modelling capability across integrated P&L, balance sheet and cash flow Experience leading and developing teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment Commercially astute, analytical, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving business
