The Opportunity:

A UK Financial Services Institution with an established presence is seeking an Interim Head of Digital Assets.

This is a franchise-level leadership role with direct visibility to Exco and the Board. The remit is not product-specific. It is to define and own the firm's strategic position in digital assets, translating existing structural advantages into a clear, defensible market position.

It has strong relationships with central and local banks and offers a credible payments platform.

The focus is on making deliberate strategic choices,not following market noise.

The Mandate:

Own and define the group-wide digital assets strategy Lead the design and commercialisation of stablecoin-related capabilities, including settlement and off-ramp infrastructure Focus initially on high-growth markets Build and lead a cross-functional capability across technology, compliance, treasury, and commercial functions Translate strategy into execution with clear prioritisation, resourcing, and delivery plans

Market & External Leadership:

This role will act as a visible voice for the bank in digital assets: Represent the organisation at industry forums and conferences Build relationships with regulators and central banks across core and target markets Shape external positioning on the role of regulated banks in digital assets Clearly differentiate between ecosystem participants, including issuers, infrastructure providers, and distribution layers

The Profile:

Payments-led background with a strong understanding of settlement, treasury products, and cross-border Strategic operator able to define and execute a small number of high-impact bets Strong regulatory awareness with the ability to navigate licensing and jurisdictional considerations Credible communicator at the board level and externally Experience building new capabilities within established financial institutions Global perspective with sensitivity to emerging market dynamics Sufficient technical fluency to engage in digital assets infrastructure and partner discussions
