A significant UK industrial business operating at scale is seeking an experienced Interim Health & Safety Programme Director to join at a pivotal moment in its performance improvement journey.

This is a strategic leadership role, not an operational one. The business has a capable and dedicated H&S team who are performing well, and who now need senior strategic direction to help them move to the next level and sustain continued improvement over the long term.

The opportunity

Lead the development and execution of a long-term, sustainable health & safety improvement programme Identify and deliver high impact quick wins that demonstrate early momentum and build confidence across the organisation Work directly with operational teams and plant directors who are genuinely engaged in change Partner with the executive team to shape and support a broader organisational turnaround Help move the business from a reactive posture to a proactive, embedded safety culture

What we're looking for

Proven track record as a senior H&S leader in complex, high-hazard industrial environments A strategist first, someone who can set direction, inspire leaders, and sustain change. Not just manage process Experience working at board or executive level, influencing culture and behaviours at the top of an organisation The credibility to be trusted immediately by an experienced team and senior leadership Available to mobilise at short notice and commit to an on-site presence
