About Thistle

Thistle Scientific is a global scientific partner that equips scientists to be relentless in their pursuit of answers. Not just answers to the hypotheses they test or experiments they conduct, but to our future. For our planet and its people. Science has no finish line, yet every generation leaves a head start for the next. Our generation is no different.

Our headquarters are based in Rugby, UK. But our team is global. We’re represented by brilliant minds and even better people. Brought together by science. United by purpose. The role amplifies that purpose. It connects with scientists. It inspires resilience. Through content and community, it reminds everyone that the part they play from the first question to the final conclusion changes the future.

Because science is never done. So neither are we. One hypothesis at a time.

About the role

Hybrid: 3 days in office (Rugby, UK) + occasional travel around the UK Full-time: 40 hours/week Salary: £28,000

We’re looking for a committed and enthusiastic Social Media Executive who is passionate about the latest social trends, has a true love for content and storytelling and is ready to further their knowledge and career in our fast-growing business.

Key Responsibilities

• Creating engaging, original content for Thistle’s social media channels. • Using the brand guidelines to write captions and engage with comments in Thistle’s tone of voice. • Developing and leading evolving social strategies that align with the business goals. • Planning and scheduling content using leading social media tools. • Monitoring platforms and ensuring timely engagement with audiences. • Designing and editing social content using tools like Canva/Figma/Adobe/CapCut. • Analysing performance, producing insightful reports, and making data-driven recommendations. • Identify opportunities to elevate social activity and drive incremental growth. • Staying up to date with emerging trends, platform updates, and cultural moments (and applying them creatively). • Supporting the wider team with marketing campaign ideas and administrative tasks.
